About the post–

POST is recruiting for a Software Engineer to work for a leader in the automotive industry who specialise in automotive web design, digital marketing, web analytics and optimisation, as well as building their own products and technologies that influence the wider market.

You will be maintaining and enhancing the companies existing web-based (PHP) platform and work alongside existing developers and designers on client projects. Plan and build new projects including the new core platform using agile tools and methodologies.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Debug issues that have been reported and logged in ticket tracking system.
  • Create and implement fixes, writing clear and concise code and documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to the existing system and workflows.
  • Identify possible areas of improvement.
  • Share knowledge of emerging technologies/industry trends with the team.
  • Complete work within the timescale and quality expectations.
  • Follow best practices when producing code. 8. Analyse and size tickets as part of a team for sprint planning purposes.

What we need from you–

  • Minimum 2 years commercial experience
  • Proficient in PHP (preferably PHP 7)
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (including JQuery)
  • Proficient in one or more databases (MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, SQLite)
  • Strong communication skills (Verbal/written)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Eye for detail and identifying problems
  • Analytical and commercial experience
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Zend PHP Certification
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • Proficient in PHP and another language, for example (Python, C#, Java)
  • Proficient in Doctrine and ElasticSearch
  • Proficient in ZendFrame work
  • Mobile App development experience
