About the post–

POST is recruiting for a developer who is proficient in ASP.NET or VB.net and MySQL to work for our client, who is one of the largest global manufacturers and distributors of carbon and stainless steel products.

Due to business expansion, they have a need for a developer who is comfortable with autonomy and collaborating with analysts and the wider business. It will be your main objective to maintain and improve existing and future in-house web/software development systems within the business.

Some of your other main duties and responsibilities in your role of software developer will be to:

  • Examine, learn and understand their current systems, web/software developments.
  • Work internally with colleagues and existing 3rd parties to improve data accuracy, processes and reporting.
  • Maintain business continuity of their in-house web/software developments.
  • Work with end-users to discuss and understand their requirements to ensure the business requirements are fully supported.
  • Provide end user training and support for our in-house web/software developments.
  • Regularly review, report and maintain security and data integrity of our web/software developments.
  • Analytical reporting using various tools.

What we need from you–

  • 2+ years of commercial experience.
  • Must enjoy the challenge of learning and implementing new skills and techniques.
  • ASP.NET or VB.NET developer skills required.
  • MySQL and/or SQL database skills required.
  • Knowledge of these additional languages desirable – HTML5 / CSS / Actionscript 3 / Javascript / PHP
  • Knowledge of these additional programs desirable – Adobe Flash, Adobe – any graphics editor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable and part of a team.

The interview will include computer-based tests to assess the experience of required computing skills.
