About the post–

POST- Recruitment is recruiting for a Sales Manager, for the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of carbon and stainless-steel fastening systems for metal and flat roofing. This is a great opportunity to join a premium brand that is well recognised in it’s market.

The role is to cover the South West region including, Bristol, Exeter, Taunton, Yeovil, Bath, Salisbury, Swindon, Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading and Oxford. This will be field based, and you will inherit all current accounts within this region from day one.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing key accounts within sales territory
  • Developing new business within the region by working with sub-contractors
  • Providing technical/consultative sales support by networking and building strong working relationships within all areas of the customer/client.  This includes areas such as technical, estimating, purchasing and departmental heads
  • Ensuring you have good product and application knowledge at all times
  • Ensuring the highest standard of customer service is provided at all times
  • Maximising profitability whilst securing the business
  • Pro-actively seek and secure projects within your sales region
  • Use Glenigans to actively plan your opportunities and demonstrate good knowledge of your target projects and area
  • Working closely with your peers to fully leverage all opportunities
  • Understanding your competitors and reporting back on a regular basis any information of note
  • Completing all sales administration as required in full and on time
  • Attending Sales Meetings and Training as requested
  • Completing Monthly Reports for submission to the National Sales Manager
  • Developing Project Pipelines

What we need from you–

You will ideally have experience or knowledge of the construction market, in particular building envelope products. Our client is looking for a team player that not only manages their own budget and accounts but that also buys in to the overall success of the team. You will need to be pro-active in your approach, targeting new and lapsed businesses.


They need a confident sales person that will be able to win over clients with their personality and will enjoy entertaining and socialising with them. You will also need to set time aside to attend lunches with people in the industry to share information on upcoming projects. This is very much a networking industry where you will be attending events, meals out and hospitality days, amongst other things.
