POST- Recruitment are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for an award-winning tech business, with a fantastic culture based in Leeds City Centre.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is at the heart of our client's strategy and your primary responsibility will be to ensure our client's customers enjoy the best quality of service and uptime possible.

You'll collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure that reliability and performance are at the core of our client's services.

You'll have full involvement in every part of our client's site, from conception of products and their development to deployment, troubleshooting and analysis.

Collaborating with Solution Architects, Software, Web Operations and Test Engineers, you will together influence the deployment and scaling of products and features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise availability, stability and performance of client's services.
  • Refine and influence system design and implementation.
  • Build and run tools to identify, predict and mitigate failures.
  • Operational Support.
  • Cross Team Working.


  • The tech you will use will primarily be Open Source in a LAMP environment, so you’ll have extensive commercial experience in supporting and developing high volume commercial web sites using object orientated PHP and MySQL.
  • Our client is a RHEL/CentOS house so a very good understanding of Linux is essential.
  • They have some typical LAMP stacks, though Mongo, Redis, Memcached and RabbitMQ also feature highly.
  • They write their code in PHP and Javascript, making heavy use of Node.js.
  • There’s the usual mixture of bash, a little Python, and some Ruby.
  • They make heavy use of Chef for their configuration management but experience of this or other CM tools is necessary. Our clients source control is Git.
  • They make use of Graphite, Grafana, New Relic, Splunk and Opsview for monitoring services.

What we need from you–

You'll have a overwhelming passion for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) You'll have a minimum of 2 years Linux system administration experience

Dev skillset/background - PHP, JavaScript, Python or Ruby.

Although experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) would be a benefit, our client is happy to consider applicants with a DevOps, Systems Administration, Technical Services, Testing, Platform or Infrastructure background looking for a move into Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
