Our client is a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding business, committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. They are seeking a passionate and skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join their dynamic team. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Group Health and Safety Manager to cultivate a robust safety culture across all their sites.
About the Role
In this vital position, you’ll champion the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors. This role involves offering expert guidance, conducting audits, and crafting and implementing health and safety strategies that align with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Group Health and Safety Manager to design and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance across all sites.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, preparing comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations.
- Deliver engaging training sessions and toolbox talks to enhance health and safety awareness among employees.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for both internal management and external authorities.
- Work closely with site teams to address and resolve safety concerns promptly.
- Review and monitor the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, suggesting improvements where needed.
- Assist in developing group-wide safety standards and compiling reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Liaise with insurers regarding workplace incident claims.
What we need from you–
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
Preferred:
- Membership with IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health and safety software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
