POST- are recruiting for a Android Mobile Developer to work for a rapidly expanding technology company who are at the forefront of innovation and creativity based in the centre of Leeds.

You’ll be working on the Android application which is a key part of their customer's experience. You’ll enjoy creatively solving the problems that come up from developing a peer-to-peer IoT application.

Responsibilities of this Mobile Android Developer role will include:

  • Implementing new features and maintaining existing ones so you’ll enjoy pro-actively finding solutions to issues that arise.
  • You'll work closely with the UI/UX designers to bring ideas to life.
  • The mobile applications interface with the hardware device (Golang) via a cloud service (Python) so you’ll work alongside strong hardware and software teams to create a complete product
  • Working with a modern well-structured code base and use an agile process in small teams where you’ll see the impact your work has on a daily basis.

What we need from you–

  • Deep knowledge of Android app development using Java and Android SDK with proven ability to develop complete applications compatible across multiple Android versions.
  • Experience creating custom views and well-designed fragments.
  • Understanding of Android's concurrency models including the design of long running services.
  • At least one application in the Google Play Store.
  • Experience of unit testing Android applications, object-oriented design and version control.
  • Awareness of agile/iterative methodologies.
  • Experience of interacting with REST web services is advantageous.
  • Experience of NDK or ability to learn (i.e. some experience with C) is advantageous.
  • Some experience of iOS Development with exposure to Objective-C and XCode is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Enjoys both working independently and solving problems collaboratively.
  • Currently in the UK with permission to work in the UK. We’re not taking overseas applications at present.
